With respect to the recent COVID-19 updates from the NSW Government, please see the NSW Government release following this morning’s press conference: https://www.nsw.gov.au/media-releases/new-covid-19-restrictions-for-greater-sydney-23-june-2021

The critical text is below:

To protect the people of NSW from the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, new restrictions will be introduced for Greater Sydney from 4pm today for one week.

Following updated health advice from the Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant about the growing risk to the community, the following restrictions will be introduced for Greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour;

• Visitors to households will be limited to 5 guests – including children;
• Masks will be compulsory in all indoor non-residential settings, including workplaces, and at organised outdoor events;
• Drinking while standing at indoor venues will not be allowed;
• Singing by audiences at indoor shows or by congregants at indoor places of worship will not be allowed;
• Dancing will not be allowed at indoor hospitality venues or nightclubs however, dancing is allowed at weddings for the bridal party only (no more than 20 people);
• Dance and gym classes limited to 20 per class (masks must be worn);
• The one person per four square metre rule will be re-introduced for all indoor and outdoor settings, including weddings and funerals;
• Outdoor seated events will be limited to 50% seated capacity;
• Previous public transport capacity limits, represented by green dots, will be reintroduced;
• If you live or work in the City of Sydney, Waverley, Randwick, Canada Bay, Inner West, Bayside, and Woollahra local government areas, you cannot travel outside metropolitan Sydney for non-essential travel.

The updated Public Health Order is from 4pm today and following that sometime later will come specific advice from the Office of Sport as to how the Public Health Order will apply to sport.

Six Aside 2021

Date: Monday 14th June 2021

Venue: Endeavour Sports Reserve,  Maud St, Fairfield West NSW 2165.

Times: first games kick off at 8.00am. This is an all-day event.

Rules: 7 players per team, interchange, 10 mins each half, no offside. (Full rules available at www.cfasydney.com.au documents page). Each team will play a minimum of two games.

Boys/Men/Mixed Under 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16,18, All Age Men, O35

Girls / Ladies U10, U12, 14, All Age Ladies

Cost: CFA Sydney affiliated clubs – no charge, all other clubs $70 per team.

Grand final Winners 2020

Congratulations to St Columbas Raahauge Cup Black Reserves grade who after an extremely tense 90mins has come away with a 1-0 win against St Columbas Orange in the Grand Final.

Football for all ages in NSW is set to resume from 1st July 2020 following the NSW Government’s confirmation.

Acting Minister for Sport The Hon. Dr. Geoff Lee announced that senior football players will join youth in being able to commence contact training and matches from 1 July 2020.

Extension of the suspension of grassroots football

After receiving further advice on Covid 19, including stricter measures imposed by the Federal Government in response to COVID-19, the temporary suspension to sanctioned grassroots football competitions has today been extended through to at least May 31, 2020.

Please ensure no teams are using council grounds at this time for any reason.

Both Associations are currently looking at options for the reminder of the season and you will be notified in due course.

The Junior John Oliver Representative Competition, is an opportunity for junior players to be involved in representing their Zone in CFA Sydney Football Competition.  The competition is the best of 2 games.

This competition is for Under 8, 9, 10 & 11s & U9-11 girls

Trial dates are on 30th May, please have your child attend the trials if they wish to trial to play in this competition.

The National Titles trail dates are below.

The National Titles will be held in Brisbane from 29th September until 4TH October 2019. The cost per player is $1600. This includes flights, accommodation, meals, uniform kit and team registration.

If you would like to trial for the National titles, please fill out the player forms and bring it with you to the trial for your nominated age group.

Great News for Parents of School Age Children.

 
The NSW Government is helping kids get active with the new Active Kids program.
 
From 31 January 2018, parents, guardians and carers can apply for a $100 voucher per calendar year for each student enrolled in school.
 
The voucher may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities.
 
To apply for the Active Kids voucher head to the services NSW website
https://sport.nsw.gov.au/sectordevelopment/activekids . 
 
You will then be emailed your voucher number by services NSW. Email this voucher to St Columbas club secretary kim@southerncrossstainlesssteel.com.au and your voucher will be processed, and the $100 will be taken off your player registration fee for 2018.

Under 14 Orange lost 0-1 in an exciting grand final. Well done on a great season.

Senior Raahague Cup Reserve team are into the final to be held on 25th August 2018 at 1pm at Jones Park1, Banks Street Merrylands. Get down and support the team, a win will give them a Grand final berth at Marconi Stadium next week.

Under 8 Orange have made the Semi final, it will be played at 9.30am at Jones Park 1, Banks Street Merrylands on 25th August 2018
